“I can’t speak for my siblings, but for me, our youth group has grounded me, its given me some sense of normalness. I was in one of my community groups for high school girls and we didn’t do anything related to the Bible but we just played games and it was so much fun, I sorta forgot about how quarantine has kept us away from each other,” Caroline Daugherty, 15, said. “The best moment was being able to have a productive conversation with the other side, the Democrats. I had a conversation with a lady for a good couple of hours at an event. “I think the most important thing is to build a relationship with your students so that they understand why your expectations are what they are,” Social Studies teacher Elizabeth Salmon shares as she describes how she built a trusting relationship between her and her class. Salmon has taught all levels of students from average to AP and has maintained her classes through high expectations and enforcing teamwork.

“If anybody wants one, I’m happy to make them,” Social Studies teacher Suzanne Bass informs as is willing to offer one to any teacher that requests one from her. During Thanksgiving break, Bass made seven fabric window covers, one for herself and six extra to pass out, and handed them to the teachers around her once she returned.
