Kempsville’s girls varsity basketball team has had two bounce-back games after their loss against Princess Anne on January 25, 2019. They beat both Green Run, with an ending score of 81-44, and Salem 59-41. Their next game, which is away, will be on February 5, against Princess Anne.

“I think we’re definitely more prepared this time,” said Brooke Glisson, senior, who plays center for Kempsville’s girls varsity team.

The girls’ most important focus right now is playoff position, as girls varsity is sitting at 7th place in the 5A Division. So far, their season has been successful, as they have a 16-1 winning streak, only having lost to Princess Anne. With only a couple games left in the season, the playoffs are close and around the corner.

“I think we’re going to be well prepared this year,” Glisson said, “because of our coach and how he has prepared us, and all the hard work we’ve put in. I’m hoping [we’ll be] first, but we’ll just see when we get there.”

The ladies need to win the rest of their games in order to gain a home court advantage.
