Stanley Quencher Take Over

From Hydroflask to Starbucks cups, there’s always a new “Must have, life-changing” cup on the market. The newest one that has blown up in popularity is the Stanley Adventure Quencher Travel Tumbler.

The Stanley tumbler is an insulated 30 or 40-fluid-ounce tumbler. The cups are designed with a handle on the side for easy carrying, and a straw for easy sipping. The Stanleys also have a sleek design that makes the cup easy to put into cup holders.

Outside of their functionality design, one of the most notable features is the tumbler’s ability to maintain the temperature of the beverage. The 40 oz can keep drinks cold for up to 11 hours and drinks hot for up to seven. The 30oz came in at keeping drinks cold for up to nine hours. However, the cups can hold ice for much longer before melting.

Recently, KHS English teacher Mrs. Rimes said she loves her three-month-old Stanely, “It keeps my beverage cold. I put ice in my water every day and it keeps it cold all day long.”

Before the Stanley Quencher cup blew up in popularity, Stanley had low sales of the cups. At one point, the production of the cups halted without plans to ever resume. In 2019, the company removed the tumblers from their site.

Outraged, committed fans of the Stanley Adventure Quencher Travel Tumbler intervened to bring the cup back to the market. A group of women bought the cups at wholesale prices in bulk to resell to prove to Stanley the value of their tumbler.

By the next year, Stanley had restocked their tumblers and listed them on their website. In the past year, the public has seen the famous Stanley Quencher grow in popularity. Most people know someone who uses their beloved Stanley or may even have one themselves.

Here at Kempsville High, it seems that at every turn a Stanely is lurking in the background. They’re in backpacks, being held by their owners, or resting on desks.

Kendall Payse, a KHS junior, with a Stanely in both sizes, defends her cup because of its “convenience and it definitely got up my water intake; plus, they have really cute colors.”

While the cups serve a functionality needed for a loyal fanbase, Mrs. Rimes does bring up that Stanely’s may not be worth their price tag.

Her reasoning for this hot-take is, “They do have a leakage problem. So if it tips over it spills out. There are accessories you can purchase at an additional cost. But I think for the price point, it should not be leaking.

But this is just one take as Shelby Jones, KHS senior, would recommend Stanley to anyone as a strong believer, “Stanley’s are here to stay. Hydroflask has been around for a while, ya know. I think it’s the same.”

Stanleys have blown up in popularity. This does provoke the question, that Jones answered, are Stanleys here to stay or a mere moment of popularity?

Despite the differences in views, it seems that there is a consensus, Stanelys are in and not going anywhere. So jump on the bandwagon, and appreciate the new Stanley era.
