On October 8 Inside Business recognized Ms. Meghan Timlin, Kempsville High School academy coordinator, with the Top 40 Under 40 award due to her outstanding accomplishments. As an educator, much of Kempsville High School’s success is attributed to her hard work and dedication.

The Top 40 Under 40 award acknowledges young leaders who display innovation and achievement both inside and outside of the workplace. Growing up in a family of educators, Timlin feels like she was born into this role.

She believes the most lively element of her day is not the school itself but the students. Her passion for the field shows in her eagerness to interact with them and understand their creative minds. Timlin enjoys giving a voice to such a unique generation and providing a support system for their interests.

“Impacting students and giving them opportunities is so rewarding as a career,” says Timlin.

Timlin takes special pride in the success of the Entrepreneurship and Business Academy. Her goal is to allow students to be exposed to real-world experiences and establish connections during high school. These opportunities lay the foundation for students to be ready for their next step, whether that be in college or a career.

Above all, Timlin wants to challenge others to make a difference. She understands the potential students hold and puts it to good use. Even beyond high school, she continues to encourage alumni to pursue their passions. Timlin wields a genuine love for education, and it shines through in her willpower to give students every possible opportunity to succeed.

“As an educator, we never stop helping students,” says Timlin.
