Something in the Water Lineup Announced at Kempsville High School
Something in the Water is a music festival created by Virginia native, Pharrell Williams, that is held in Virginia Beach. This year, it will be from April 20-26, with concerts and music from the 24 to the 26. This year, to announce the lineup, Pharrell Williams turned to Virginia Beach schools. In Kempsville, Principal Melissa George announced the lineup through the loudspeaker at 11:35, towards the end of students’ third block classes.
“I received a note from Virginia Beach’s very own Pharrell Williams,” she said. “Apparently, a lot of people are eager to know who is performing at the festival this year. And it turns out that you, and the students and teachers of Kempsville High School, are the very first people to know the lineup.”
George then announced the lineup, which as follows:

She also added “Pharrell and friends”, teasing further performers.
“It is my hope as well as Pharrell’s hope that every student understands the importance of positivity, goodwill, community and empathy and body by the festival and the young people…” George said. “Pharrell believes that education is essential for a healthy society. Virginia Beach and our dedicated teachers and administrators are laying the foundation for the future. Pharrell hopes to see you. Virginia Beach Public Schools are committed to finding ways to partner with Something in the Water to create opportunities for students in our community.”
