Teacher Feature: Jermaine Paddyfoot

Although Paddyfoot’s coaching style has been described as fiery and laid back, he adjust his style to situations.

Paddyfoot is a man who has a background of various sports. Paddyfoot has participated in Rec Center basketball along with football.  

After he spent his time playing the sport, Paddyfoot began coaching football. Paddyfoot formerly assisted the football team of Kempsville High School.

“Mike Tomlin is someone I would best relate to.” Paddyfoot said. Paddyfoot has a coaching style that can be described as fiery.

“My coaching style is laid back but at times it’s intense,” Paddyfoot said.

Before taking the position at Kempsville High School, Paddyfoot coached UVA Wise for four seasons. One season of football is from August to November.

“In comparison to Kempsville High School, the guys on UVA Wise’s football team are   older because it’s college,” Paddyfoot said.

“It’s not easy coming to practice in a hundred degree heat, but ultimately the coaching staff at Kempsville High school tries to guide the boys into having good work ethic,” Paddyfoot said.

Mr. Paddyfoot resigned from the position as coach for Kempsville High School because he needed a break.  

“Overall I’ve had a good experience at Kempsville and coaching is something I would consider continuing in the future,” Paddyfoot said.
