Fashion Snow

Fashion Snow

Cancellation of school has affected many school activities. Although a few were able to pull through the hampering weather, many were snowballed into complete chaos and became victims of the 2015 “Snow-pocalypse.” A casualty of the winter storm was Kempsville’s  annual Fashion Show. Every year, Fashion Marketing students put together a show to reveal all the biggest trends that spring or summer. Open for students, faculty, and parents to view, the cancellation was a huge let down to many Kempsville natives and newbies.
The marketing class collects models (students) and sponsors to help bring the show to life. Mrs.Fam, marketing teacher and fashion extraordinaire, helps with the outline of the show but leaves it up to the students to fill in the gaps using creative minds, diligent work, and time management.
“We were all really looking forward to it, but I’m glad we didn’t get too far ahead before it was canceled,” said junior Lorber Miller.
Although only a few practices were held, a lot of toil and stress has gone to waste, leaving many seniors deprived of their chance to make the tradition their own.
“The goal was to get it started before spring sports so there wouldn’t be any schedule conflict,” says Ms. Fam. “Sadly, with snow delays, that wasn’t possible.” Now maybe many more underclassmen will be able to participate and pick up where they left off this year.
