Grades on the Go

The StudentVue app in the Android “Play Store” and Apple “App Store” is the unsung hero of high school students everywhere. Unfortunately, when I had asked around about it, most looked at me strangely saying, “Student Who?” So maybe even some readers at this moment may be thinking, “Who or what is the StudentVue app?” The StudentVue app gives you 24/7 access to your grades, attendance, and contacts to get ahold of your teachers. Free in both stores, this app gives students more power to know exactly what’s happening in their classes the exact moments teachers put in grades.

Watching grades and being responsible for knowing them is crucial in any student’s path to becoming an engaged and concerned learner. When clicking on the grades option, it leads students to a list of all their classes (previous and current) and gives them a percentage as well as letter grade. Students are also able to click on the class to see individual grades and assignments. One thing that the app can’t do is show a student’s current GPA.

As far as attendance goes, the app shoes students what days and what blocks are missed along with if they are excused or unexcused. Although this feature is convenient, it does not show students if it was an A or B day. Despite the few shortcomings, the StudentVue app gives students the tools they need to keep up with their academic progress.
