Some high schoolers have anticipated playing Senior Assassin throughout all their four years and now it’s the class of 2025’s turn.
Senior Assassin is a water gun target game for seniors (obviously) with a big cash prize for the winner at the end. To play, it was originally $10 to buy in but after the first week, the players that got out could pay $25 to get back in the game.
On Sundays, players receive their assignment on who they are supposed to get out. If they don’t kill their target by the following Sunday or they get shot by their assassin, they are out. Fun things like safety items are also added, along with “purge days” where no safe items are allowed.
Players can also place bounties on their targets, making it so that anyone in the game can get them out for a cash prize. If the bounty isn’t fulfilled by the end of the week, the money will go to the pot.
Sam Slater, SCA President, 12th grader, and Senior Assassin coordinator gives advice to the seniors playing, “Just have fun with it and try your best, don’t get stressed over it.”
At the beginning of the game, the pot for the winner was around $700 but with all the bounties placed on players and buy-backs, the pot is now closer to $1,000.
Players Grace David and Alicya James-Feliciano are excited to be participating in Senior Assassin.
“I’m looking forward to watching everyone’s videos when they get eliminated.” Felicano explained.
“I like the adrenaline rush of Senior Assassin, like not knowing when you’re going to get out, it excites me.” David adds.
When asked about a strategy or game plan Feliciano says, “I’ve been dabbling with a few but I don’t know if I want to share them. I have joint custody with my parents so two different houses, which one am I at? You don’t know.”
Meanwhile David shares “My strategy is that I live far away. I know all my neighbors and all of our yards connects so if you can’t find me when you come to my house it’s because I parked at
their house.”
Feliciano is willing to do “dang near anything” to win Senior Assassin while David explained that if the pot was under $1,000, there wasn’t much she would do.
The game originally started with 65 players and by the end of round one, 31 players remained.
Along with the last man standing having a huge cash prize, there will be a runner up prize for 20% of the pot and a “most creative kill” prize for 10%. Over the course of these next few weeks we will see these seniors face off till the very end.
